Help for pain management.

If you have problems with chronic or severe pain it can really affect the quality of your life. Instead of enjoying what you’re doing you tend to focus more about how you feel and so find yourself always in a cycle of thinking about pain, thus amplifying the feelings and this can become more and more of a habit as time goes on. This is where pain management is very useful as it can help you to change the focus of your thoughts allowing you to have more freedom and so enjoy what you do have and not focus on what you don't have. Using hypnosis and hypnotherapy we look to change the way you see yourself and your pain.

Stopping smoking Testimonials

"I suspect you get little feedback on your sessions so I just wanted to let you know that since I came to see you in November 2003 I haven't even thought about cigarettes, let alone been tempted. I am absolutely thrilled with the result and really cannot understand why everybody doesn't try this method".
Tim

"Dear Robert, thanks for help with the Stop Smoking session that we did together. I don't remember all of what you said, but whatever you said did the trick! I was at a rugby function a few months after our session and this is where I would have normally been at my most venerable for a cigarette. I can tell you that I didn't even get tempted, and now just the smell of them puts me off"! Link to stop smoking
Mark

"I had been smoking for over 40 years before I met Robert for our stop smoking session. He made it easy for me to understand why I struggled to stop smoking before. Rob helped me to change the way I looked at my old habit of smoking and so develop a new positive approach to being a non-smoker.The funny thing is now i don't even think about smoking anymore. I just wish I had done the session years ago it would have saved me a lot of money"!

Sports enhancement - performance

Successful techniques to enhance sporting performance such as golf (Help for Improving your putting and golf swing), athletics, skiing, snooker, football, tennis, endurance sports and darts in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

At Wessex Hypnotherapy situated in easy access of Bournemouth and Poole Robert Clarke specialises in helping sportsmen and women to achieve their true potential.

Most professional sports men and woman have access to a peak sports performance coach. They all recognise that sports ability can be greatly improved by the concentration of their mind and focusing on what they want to achieve, believing it and then actually allowing themselves to achieve it.

Having that mental edge and training allows you to achieve your objective, your goal. Focusing on perhaps just taking a split second off your sprinting, achieving that extra centimetre in height in the high jump, improving your handicap at golf, being a more attacking striker, or better defender, the list is endless.

I use techniques that are very easy to understand, remember and apply, giving you a clear vision on the outcome of the sports event - putting you in control.

Improving your game of golf can be greatly enhanced by your mindset, Being totally focussed and positive will allow you to play to your highest potential every time.

Two quotes from the games greats legends of golf.

Gary Player

"We create success or failure on the course primarily by our thoughts."

Arnold Palmer

"Golf is a game of inches: the six inches between your ears."

As these two great players stated, the focus of your mind is a very important part of any sports activity. Being mentally prepared will allow you to achieve your highest level, by getting yourself into you own personal zone.
Other Sports covered

All sports can benefit from this type of mental preparation, and I specialise in help to improve your performance with football, tennis, golf, badminton, athletics, snooker, darts, sailing, rugby, rowing…… the list is endless.

Addictions

Successful treatment for addictions and addictive behaviour such as gambling, drugs and drinking excess alcohol in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnotherapy and hypnosis.

Being addicted to something is a dependence on a behaviour or substance that a person is powerless to stop; the feeling of being out of control.

The two most common substance addictions are:

Alcoholism:
Drug abuse:

Others include:

* Gambling: Click here for testimonial about gambling
* Eating
* Shopping
* Spending
* Sexual activity

Testimonial about gambling

‘I have a long standing gambling addiction which I am in desperate need of removing from my life. It interferes with my comfort and integrity to the extent that I am now finding it unbearable.’

This was the email I sent to Rob in January this year when the gambling was at its worst. I started a course of analytical hypnotherapy a few weeks after and it has changed my life. I am no longer lured by the flashing lights of the fruit machines or feel the need to go into the bookies. I also have a new found respect for my money and the fact that I no longer have to cover up my gambling means I don’t have lie to my wife and family. Things couldn’t be better for us.
Rick

Addictions are always destructive and can cause physical, mental, emotional and social problems. This can destroy relationships with both family and friends and subsequently lead to a lonely existence.

The person with an addiction may well be in denial of their problems and so ignore their symptoms, even when those symptoms are staring them straight in the face. They may find that not only are they lying to other people about their addiction they also start lying to themselves.

The first step of any recovery from an addiction is recognising that there is a problem. Once this has been established then the healing process can begin.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

Similar drives or urges are responsible for addictions; whether it be to alcohol, gambling, drugs etc. Whatever the addiction, it is often driven by an inner need that usually responds well to hypno-analysis (Analytical Hypnotherapy)

Anorexia Nervosa

People with this eating disorder worry about their weight and food more than other people. They are often under weight and fear being fat. The sufferer may go to great lengths to avoid eating and may use laxatives or even cause themselves to be sick should they eat any food. Though Anorexia Nervosa is more common in teenage girls and young women it is can also affect older women and men.

Some of the symptoms can be:

* Not being able to admit you have a problem
* Worrying about putting on weight and getting fat
* Thinking you are fat even when you are under weight for your height and size
* Not wanting treatment

Bulimia Nervosa

If you suffer from bulimia you will at times lose control and eat vast amounts of food. You then worry that you will put on weight and so take drastic actions like making yourself sick, taking laxatives, or doing excess exercise trying to burn off all the food you have eaten so you do not gain weight. You keep all of this a secret from people as you may feel guilty or ashamed of your actions.

Some of the symptoms can be:

* Thinking about food all the time
* Losing control and binging on foods in secret
* Making yourself sick, taking laxatives, or doing excessive exercise after you have eaten in order to get rid of the calories
* Being caught in a vicious circle of emptying your stomach, feeling calm for a while, then eating compulsively again

Binge eating disorder

This is where the sufferer binges on huge amounts of food but do not try to avoid gaining weight by vomiting or using laxatives. You may have feelings of hating yourself and feeling low and depressed.

How can hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy and hypno-analysis are effective in helping people with eating disorders to discover the cause of their eating disorder and allows them to take back control of their lives.

What are obsessions and OCD?

This problem is a serious anxiety-related condition that affects as many as three in a hundred people.

At Wessex Hypnotherapy Centre in Bournemouth and Poole every client is treated in a friendly, sensitive manner, and you can rest assured of the strictest confidentiality.

Most people suffering from obsessions or OCD experience repetitive, intrusive and unwelcome thoughts, images, impulses and doubts which they find hard to ignore.
The sufferer will try in vain to reduce their feelings of anxiety in some form of activity for example:

* Constantly washing their hands
* Worrying about germs
* Checking door locks or cooker switches
* Wanting everything to be just perfect
* Constant negative thought patterns
* Always cleaning everything
* Counting and hoarding things
* Partaking in endless rumination

The obsessional will often find that after doing their activity they never seem to feel any better, and still do not have that peace of mind that they were searching for. So the circle of behaviour continues without any real satisfaction achieved.
What are compulsions?

Compulsions are an irresistible urge to perform a certain task or activity. The person will feel some reward for their actions, maybe even a feeling of satisfaction for a while. When the stress and tension in this persons life increases their compulsive behaviour will also increase often causing feelings of guilt for their actions. Some of their behaviour patterns may include:

* Binge drinking
* Gambling
* Drug addictions
* Comfort eating
* Touching objects/people
* Counting
* Putting something down or picking something up

How Can Hypnotherapy help?

Hypno-analysis can be extremely effective in removing the symptoms of the problem, allowing you to once again to enjoy your life.

Effective treatment for Pain Management using Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.

Pain Management and Pain Control

With the help of hypnosis it is possible to enable you to have more control over your pain, and most importantly control without the use of drugs. Hypnosis can affect physical changes, enhancing the person’s own immune system, decreasing tension and stress, and providing you with hopeful expectation. It can even help those illnesses and injuries that cannot be healed. These methods can provide and bring about an improved quality of life

In the real world we cannot avoid stress, but what is most significant is that we recognise it and deal with it effectively because then we can allow ourselves to have more control over the way we react and enable us to be considerably more relaxed.
Every thought produces an emotion of some kind and every emotion produces a bodily effect. Your mind affects your body and your body affects your mind. Therefore, if one of these is affected then you may find yourself feeling unbalanced, like a seesaw effect.Your mind has the power to forget but your body doesn’t.

Using hypnosis and hypnotherapy

Whether you are looking for relief from chronic or acute pain, visiting the dentist or are about to have an operation, hypnosis can help you reduce and in many cases totally alleviate the pain. The pain management techniques taught within the session are very special and effective. However, your Doctors referral for pain management is ESSENTIAL because pain is a signal/symptom that something is wrong with your body. This is why quite often with the treatment that is provided we don’t totally alleviate the pain but reduce it down, in a controllable manner, to a manageable level.

It is also explained- and indeed taught- to the client how they can reduce and manage their own pain. As mentioned earlier, pain can be caused by stress and emotional turmoil and quite often the hypno-analysis can provide an extremely quick and effective way of resolving this emotional pain.

Even those experiencing the heights of what appears to be a hopelessness of ill health can get back some of that sense of control and can relieve much of that stress, therefore improving their health and in particular their feeling of well-being.

Social phobia

Successful treatment for social phobia, the fear of being put on the spot, shyness, blushing, and feeling embarrassed in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

This is best described as a feeling of being put on the spot, fear of being of being embarrassed, humiliated or judged. Symptoms may also include a feeling of being out of breath, almost like a panic attack, excessive perspiring and a feeling of anxiety. A recent report in the U.S. concluded that up to 13% of the adult population suffer from this.

The D.S.M. IV (the mental health 'bible') lists social anxiety as: "A marked and persistent fear of one or more social or performance situations in which the person is exposed to unfamiliar people or to possible scrutiny by others. The individual fears that he/she will act in a way that will be humiliating or embarrassing.

What does this feel like?

Situations such as social events like dinner parties, going out to meet other people or just going to the shops can prove to be a real nightmare for the social phobic. Their symptoms often include panic attacks, fear of being rejected, a feeling of not being good enough and being concerned how people see you. Blushing easily, no confidence, a lack of eye contact, are also common experiences.

Sufferers may also suffer from making phone calls and worry continually about a forth coming event.

There is often a fear of meeting new people, and the social phobic will keep their ideas and thoughts to themselves for fear of being ridiculed.

As stated earlier some of the physical symptoms experienced can be a panic attack, excessive perspiration, having dizzy spells, your heart pounding, or just being out of control.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

Social phobia always starts in childhood and often the symptoms may get progressively worse as times goes by.

Analytical therapy (hypno-analysis) is an extremely effective way of finding out what the root cause of the problem is. With the use of hypnosis and hypno-analysis the root cause of the anxiety can be located and so the negative emotions that surround the problem can be released thus dissolving the problem for good.

When the emotions are released the symptoms disappear and the result is a much more confident self assured outgoing person. Help for social phobia using hypnotherapy and hypnosis is available in Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas of Dorset.

Effective treatment for IBS in Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

What is irritable bowel syndrome?

Symptoms of IBS include abdominal discomfort or pain, usually in the lower abdomen; the location and intensity are variable, even at different times within the same person. There may be a change to your normal bowel habit; a change in frequency or consistency, chronic or recurrent diarrhoea or constipation.

Irritable bowel syndrome can be a very debilitating problem holding people back from enjoying the full life style they desire. They may be unable to work, attend social events, or even travel short distances. Up to 20% of the adult population has symptoms of IBS, which appears more often in women than men. High levels of stress and tension cause can cause the symptoms of IBS to increase, quiet often making it impossible for the sufferer to leave their house.

What can I do now?

I would always advise a person to first consult their doctor to be sure that there is not a medical reason for their symptoms.

How can hypnotherapy help?

Hypno-analysis (Analytical Hypnotherapy) is a very effective therapy is treating IBS using cause and effect therapy. Once the bottled up emotions are released that are connected to the cause of the IBS then the symptoms then can cease to be, allowing you to be free from your past thoughts and feelings.

SEXUAL PROBLEMS

Successful treatment for Impotence, Premature Ejaculation and Vaginisimus in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

What treatment is available?

Most people find it difficult to discuss these private matters. At Wessex Hypnotherapy centre in Bournemouth and Poole every client is treated in a friendly, sensitive manner, and you can rest assured of the strictest confidentiality. From my experience sexual problems respond well to hypnotherapy, and hypno-analysis is an effective way of dealing with the symptoms.

Impotence

Impotence is a very common and distressing problem for men, this is where men experience difficulty to achieve or maintain an erection during sexual activity. Understandably this can cause many other issues such as a feeling of failure, rejection, and inadequacy, which can also affect the relationship between partners.

Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is another sexual problem that affects many men; a premature ejaculation problem is a persistent or recurrent experience of ejaculating too quickly with minimum sexual stimulation. This is found to be more prominent in younger males, and can lead to a lack of confidence, or low self-esteem.

Vaginisimus

Vaginisimus is an upsetting problem for women, when it causes sex to become very painful due to the intense involuntary contractions around the genitals. Symptoms can include genital pain, loss of libido or sex drive.
Lack of sex drive or libido

Quite often when people are stressed, feeling nervous or anxious then the first thing that can be affected is the sex drive of that person, they just don’t want to be close or intimate with their partner. They may avoid any contact fearing that this may lead to having sex. This may then cause problems within their relationship leading to difficult times, arguments and even more stress.

The list below shows other problems that are associated with sexual problems

* Fear of sex
* Fear of penetration
* Fetishes
* Frigidity
* Low self esteem
* Stress
* Anxiety
* Emotional issues
* Relationship problems

Sexual difficulties respond well to hypno-analysis and the above examples are just a few of these explained in more detail

Hypnotherapy for children

Effective treatment for children and teenagers such as fear of needles, bedwetting and lack of confidence in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnotherapy and hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy for children and teenagers.

At Wessex Hypnotherapy located close to Bournemouth and Poole Robert Clarke has found that children and teenagers respond very well to hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
They normally enjoy the session and think of it as a liberating experience.

Quite often only one session of therapy will be needed which can give incredible results.

Parents have often tried many other forms of treatment but find that hypnotherapy is a fast and effective way to deal with and resolve many problems and issues. As Rob works with children he is fully CRB checked.
The "Blowaway" Technique

This is a single relaxing session of hypnotherapy that has been designed specifically for use with children. It allows them to release their anxiety, worries or phobias so that the child/teenager can go forward with their own development without being hampered from their past negative feelings, worries or problems.

This simple but fun technique encourages the child to take a deep breath and blow away any of the negative feelings or bottled up emotions they may have. This allows the child to progress much easier with their own personal development.

To finish the session positive suggestions are given not only for relaxation and calmness but also in order that the child will experience more control and direction in the decisions they make:

The blow away technique is an effective tool when used to help problems such as:

* Bedwetting (Enuresis)
* Low confidence issues
* Thumb sucking
* Nightmares/irregular sleeping patterns
* School issues
* Phobias, fears and anxiety
* Lack of concentration
* Feelings of being sad, unhappy, upset, stressed or embarrassed.
* Food issues such as anorexia or bulimia

When seeing a child under the age of 16 years I always insist on a parent or guardian being present during the session.

Phobias, fears and anxiety

Effective treatment for anxiety and fears such as Arachnophobia (spiders), Aerophobia (fear of flying), Acrophobia (heights), Hydrophobia (water),social phobia and Odontophobia (fear of dentists) in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

Phobias explained

At Wessex Hypnotherapy centre in Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset, Robert specializes in helping people to overcome fears and phobias. A phobia is best described as an internal anxiety that is triggered by an external situation. It can be a direct link to the phobia or something symbolic.

Growing up we go through many different experiences and emotions, these may be locked away in the subconscious of our mind. At a later date they can cause us to react to outside objects or situations with a feeling of anxiety. This can manifest itself in the form of a panic attack, or perhaps a feeling of being out of control, and yet it may seem to make no sense to the person having the fear of the situation.

An example of this could be a child who was trapped in a cupboard. The emotions created were so strong that the whole event was repressed and blocked out by the subconscious mind, and so a phobic reaction is created. Claustrophobia is the fear of being in confined spaces.

Some other common phobias include:

* Arachnophobia (spiders)
* Hydrophobia (water)
* Didaskaleinophobia (fear of going to school)
* Emetophobia (fear of being sick)
* Trypanophobia (Injections)
* Acrophobia (heights)
* Haemophobia, Haemaphobia or Haematophobia (fear of bood)
* Aerophobia (fear of flying)
* Agoraphobia (open spaces)
* Glossophobia (public speaking)
* Odontophobia (fear of dentists)
* Paruresis, toilet phobia, shy bladder (fear of having to urinate in front of others)
* Arsonphobia or Pyrophobia (fear of fire)..........plus many, many more.

Some phobias are so acute that it will keep the person from seeking help from a doctor or the dentist. Agoraphobia could well be the reason why you cannot venture out of the house to seek medical help from your doctor. Odontophobia (fear of the dentist) may well stop you visiting the dentist for treatment you may well urgently require for your teeth!

There are thousands of other phobic reactions, like fear of the dentist, needles, blood, heights, birds, darkness, hospitals, snakes, stairs, and even people; the above are just a brief example.

What’s the difference between a fear and a phobia?

The main difference between the two is the severity of the emotional reaction. To give an example, a strong dislike of spiders is a fear that the person may feel very uncomfortable around spiders, and not want to go near one. A phobia though, is an irrational, uncontrollable, intense fear that can produce a physical reaction.
Social Anxiety

When experiencing a social anxiety (social phobia) it can hold you back not only in your personal life but also in business and your career. Business and social functions can become a real nightmare.

Social Anxiety can include:

* Intense feelings of fear
* Fear of rejection
* Worrying about what other people think about you
* Feeling of being inferior

Symptoms could include:

* Blushing
* A lack of confidence
* Mumbling or stuttering speech patterns
* Heart pounding
* Sweating
* Feeling dizzy
* Numbness

These symptoms can be increased when you are under pressure to achieve a goal, especially in front of other people.

Examples include:

* Giving a presentation
* Taking an important phone call
* Conversing with somebody important
* Attending a job interview
* Being 'put on the spot'

It can also occur in a social environment; the thought of going to a friend's wedding, or a birthday party, ie the fear of meeting people.

Dealing with phobias, fear and anxiety

Although some anxieties and fear can be dealt with using suggestion therapy, the best way to deal with more deep-rooted anxieties and phobias is to use analytical hypnotherapy (hypno-analysis).

Hypno-analysis works on the principle of cause and effect, so it allows the bottled up emotion to be released so the effect (the phobia) disappears.

Don't let phobias, fear or anxiety ruin your life, regain control!

Hypnosis is a pleasant, natural feeling of deep relaxation with a state of heightened awareness.

Will I be asleep?

No, you will be fully aware at all times during hypnosis even though you will have your eyes closed. If you feel concerned at anytime during the treatment you can get up and leave.

Shall I be aware of what is happening at all times during therapy?

Yes. Hypnosis is just a feeling of deep relaxation so you will always be aware of what is happening. Hypnosis does not involve being asleep, in a trance or being "put under" as many people expect.

Can I be made to do anything embarrassing or against my will
?

No, hypnosis only continues with your co-operation. You are in complete control over what you do and say. Hypnotherapy has nothing to do with stage hypnosis as used in entertainment.

Is the therapy confidential?

Yes, I work under the guidelines of the International Association of Hypno-analysts (IAPH), whose members are bound by a strict code of practice and ethics of the highest standard. After therapy is finished all the information collected is either returned to the client or destroyed.

Is it a good idea to see my doctor before visiting you?

If you suspect that there is a physical cause for a problem then your doctor should be consulted.

Forensic hypnosis

Another form of hypnotherapy that helps people remember facts and details from a specific incident is forensic hypnosis. You may only remember very basics details of the event but with forensic hypnosis techniques more precise details can be uncovered from the event. For example you may have been a witness or even a victim to a hit and run accident but can only remember the colour of the car.

Using forensic hypnosis it may well be possible to discover the type of car, whether it was been driven by a male or female driver and perhaps even such information as the registration number of the car. This information can then be used to help solve a crime and aid in a prosecution of the perpetrator.

lack of self confidence and low self esteem

Successful treatment for the lack of confidence and low self esteem in Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne and Dorset using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be effective treatment to help you deal with confidence and self esteem issues and so help to change negative thoughts and feelings. A good example of this could be exam nerves, a job interview or perhaps taking your driving test.

Failing to achieve full potential can hold you back throughout your life. Below are some examples:

* Not liking to try new things
* Feeling you can’t do anything right
* Having a hard time meeting new people and making friends
* Becoming easily embarrassed
* Thinking “I can’t do it.” before trying or doing something new
* Worry about being rejected
* Thinking you may fail, always worrying about what might happen
* Feeling overwhelmed by social functions
* Problems with relationships

Everything we react to in our lives is formed from an experience, something we have learned. If we react to certain situations with a lack of confidence, then we can learn to react in a way that is positive and feels natural.

By changing your perspective to a positive outlook and thinking about what you could do will put you back in control.
If you believe in yourself, other people will believe in you.

Feeling more self-belief and assurance will help your confidence and self-esteem to grow, giving you the motivation and confidence to take control of your life.

* Have positive thoughts about your own abilities
* Focus on your strengths
* Looking positively about situations
* Feeling much more assertive
* Giving yourself credit for your achievements
* Being much more at ease with yourself
* Looking to the future in a positive way

Take steps today that will lead to a change tomorrow for the better.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

A lack of confidence and low esteem respond particularly well to hypnotherapy and hypnosis. Using positive suggestion therapy and visualisation skills can help to change your perception from a negative thought pattern to a positive one. In some cases hypno-analysis is recommended to deal with the root cause of the problem.

The fear of flying

The fear or phobia of flying can hold people back from enjoying the freedom of traveling to a chosen destination; this can be a real problem in a social or business environment. At Wessex hypnotherapy located close to Bournemouth and Poole I have helped many people to deal with this phobia.

The mere thought of going to the airport and boarding an aeroplane can be a traumatic experience for the person with aerophobia or aviatophobia. Quite often as the weeks decrease to the actual flight date, the person can show more and more signs of being stressed, anxious, or even start to have panic attacks at the thought of boarding the plane.

In some severe cases the person may actually force themselves to go to the airport only to find that they cannot board the aeroplane. This causes even more stress and tension for all concerned.

How can hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy, hypnosis and hypno-analysis are effective in helping people deal with the fear of flying. Using hypnosis and hypno-analysis we can find the unconscious cause(s) of all this anxiety and release any negative bottled-up emotions and when the emotions are released, the symptoms disappear, leaving the person much more relaxed and confident.

Help for exam nerves and driving test nerves using hypnotherapy & hypnosis in Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne and Dorset.

Forthcoming interview, test or speech?

* Pre-test nerves,

* Driving test,

* Public speaking,

* Exam pressures,

* Confident Boost,

* Job interviews,

* Presentations,

Many people suffer with nerves or anxiety when faced with situations which are not part of their every day life or which affect other areas of their lives, such as job interviews, driving test, presentations, exams etc.

Suggestion therapy is an excellent and powerful way of controlling pre-test nerves and boosting your confidence and positive thinking to allow you to get through your particular situation. During the deep relaxation of hypnosis, hypnotic suggestion will encourage confidence, calmness and positive thinking during moments of high stress.

Once you can allow yourself to focus your thoughts on what you are doing at a time and a place and be in the moment, you can then allow yourself to do the best that you can at that time and place. This can empower you and allow you to look forward to the event rather than worry about it, enabling you to perform at your very best.

Feeling:

* Confident,

* In control,

* Focused,

* Empowered,

* Energised,

* Happy,

* Contented,

Understanding Anxiety:

Most of us experience some degree of stressful and anxious moments in our lives. When these levels become too high it can affect our quality of life, and ultimately the way we perform. How you feel is your perception to what is going on around you. What may be intolerable for one person may be acceptable to another. It is important to recognise our own response towards a stressful situation and if required develop some new skills to deal with it.

Symptoms of Anxiety:

• Feeling worried all the time
• Tiredness
• Irritability
• Unable to sleep
• Difficulty concentrating
• Racing heartbeat
• Sweating
• Muscle tension and pains
• Shaking
• Breathing heavily
• Feeling dizzy or faint

Effects of anxiety:

In some cases the feelings of anxiety may become so extreme that it leads to panic attack. The individual may find that they worry just about everything including family life, money, redundancy, bereavement, relationships, school or work situations. This can have a disruptive and negative effect of their life and so create a feeling that everything could go wrong. Thus finding it difficult to just let go and relax as they will find themselves analysing and worrying about everything, leaving them feeling tired, irritable and unable to settle.
What can we do to deal with the unwanted feelings of anxiety?

Hypnotherapy is an excellent tool to use to help deal with anxiety and there are two types of therapy that can be used suggestion therapy and hypno-analysis. Using suggestion therapy positive suggestions and visualisation skills can allow you to help reframe these thoughts and emotions with the aid of hypnotherapy, so you can start to be more in control of your thoughts and feelings.

If though the problem continues to persist then Hypno-analysis (Analytical Hypnotherapy) is also a very effective therapy in treating the problem. Once the bottled up emotions that cause the anxiety are released then the symptoms can cease to be, allowing you to be free from your past thoughts and feelings.

Relationship problems

Many relationships struggle from time to time with all the stress and pressure and ups and downs of modern day life. Over a period of time this can cause a lack of communication between any couples and so a break down in the relationship, leaving them feeling upset and confused as to what to say or what to do. If left long enough the whole relationship can grind to a halt and frequent arguments can occur just adding more problems to the whole situation.

Other negative cycles of behaviour can then be triggered such as feeling:

• Upset,
• Angry,
• Jealous,
• Suspicious,
• A lack of trust,
• Frustration,
• Feeling confused,
• Feeling let down,
• Being unhappy,
• Insecurity,
• Feeling resentful,

The two people in the relationship can then feel lost and very alone and find that all the love, passion and understanding for one and another has started to disappear as they feel unable to communicate how they feel. If left long enough the whole relationship or marriage can break down leading to a separation.

How can hypnotherapy and coaching help?

The first relationship is always with ourselves as a person and once we can start to understand ourselves better and realise why we react the way we do to certain people and situations then we can start to break the negative cycles of what is happening in our lives. Hypno-analysis is a way of understanding more about how we react to our lives, environment and relationships. It’s best described as cause and effect therapy and once the cause of a problem changes then so can the symptoms and effects.
By identifying the underlying problems behind what is causing the breakdown in communication in a relationship, we can start to implement new positive changes helping to break the old negative thought patterns and so once again establish communication with others.
